Climate change is a difficult concept because it is not immediately visible to everyone. Which is why seeing with your own eyes is essential. Diewke van den Heuvel has made several trips to the Aletsch Glacier in the Swiss Alps, the largest glacier in Europe. Due to global warming, the glacier is melting at such a rapid pace that it will disappear within 70 years. With each visit, she documents this process with her camera, noticing where it is becoming more dangerous to traverse or go underneath the glacier due to the thinning, fragile ice.
